This position coordinates a large team responsible for business alignment, business architecture, application strategy, technology tools, financial management and team development to focus on the successful implementation of these capabilities.WHAT YOU WILL DOActs as the technology strategy partner & liaison for all business areas supported and would guide the team in terms of strategic roadmaps, application capabilities, regulatory needs, product challenges and solution definitions.Manages a large team of employees and contractors representing business analysis, development and Agile skillsets and organized into Agile scrum teams that align with the business functions or projects. Hiring, coaching, and mentoring talent.Reporting to the SVP of Global Technology Development, this position will ensure that the applications and services are reliable and fully supported. Ensures that the delivery management is effective and efficient. Ensure that the technology teams and applications follow all standards, guidelines, processes, and metrics as defined.Financial management of the technology portfolio for the department.Collaborating across various MFS department to ensure alignment of solutions across the firm.Continuous education on the latest industry solutions and technologies, innovation, and interacting with peers in the industry.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORBachelor's degree in a business or technology-related discipline.15+ years' experience working in the financial industry, preferably investment management firms.15+ years' experience in developing and supporting complex software solutions in the Investment area. Proven expertise to business architecture and support multi-layered business applications and solve complex problems.10+ years' experience managing globally distributed teams that include MFS employees, vendor consultants and product specialists.Deep understanding of the Portfolio management and Research applications including Equity and Fixed Income portfolio modeling, Quantitative models and algorithms, and fundamental research analysis.Very good understanding of the investment data supporting the Portfolio management and Research applications including ESG, Performance, Risk metrics, Analytics, Security master, etc.Strong technical, analytical, and business knowledge. Excellent technical understanding of underlying relevant technical architecture and business processes.Possesses deep domain knowledge of the industry standards and capabilities, regulatory requirements, and business knowledge to collaborate with the engineering leads and / or senior leaders of the business portfolio.Ability to consider the business implications of the application or technology to the current and future business environment. Proven expertise required in the supporting data domains.Proven ability to organize, plan, manage/deliver projects with a geographically dispersed cross-functional team in an Agile SDLC framework.Familiarity required to work with product / solutions vendors and support protocols, preferably Charles River portfolio management, Axioma, and Quant models.Strong knowledge of databases including SQL query language or PL/SQL programming.Proven ability to maximize resources and communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.Proven experience designing and delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences, including senior management, clients and groups that may blend technical and non-technical participants.Experience working in an Agile environment, a proven commitment to best practices and a demonstrated ability to coach agile teams.Proven ability to hire and mentor new talent.PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMaster's DegreeExpertise of DerivativesAt MFS, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace.
