What Will You Be Doing?The inspector will spend about 60% of shift inspecting product, 30% sorting product and 10% tending to a vision system. Inspector will need to be proficient using micrometers and calipers in order to measure and inspect parts.Inspect, test, or measure materials, products or work for conformance to specifications.Perform first article/ISIR dimensional inspection layouts.Ability to understand and create/complete PPAP documentationSupport and complete SPC inspection and dimensional layout requirements.Demonstrates working knowledge of all computer applications, measurement equipment (CMM, Comparator, etc.) in the quality room and on the shop floor.Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as comparators, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.Mark items with details such as grade or pass-fail status.Sort any bad product found for the defective dimension.Notify supervisors, owners or workers of production problems.Advise others on ways to improve processes or products.Compute defect percentages or averages, using formulas and calculators.Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.Conduct the first part(s) of inspection.What do we think would make you successful in this role?The ability to read and use non-digital and digital micrometers.The ability to see details at close range.The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.The ability to understand software and perform gage calibrationsThe ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.The ability to read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.The ability to complete PPAP documentsThe ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.The ability to utilize effective time management skills.The ability to work independently and/or with others.Physical Demands:The ability to lift up to 35lbsThe ability to sit for extended periods of time.The ability to walk or stand on oily surfaces.The ability to climb stairs, to kneel, bend, reach and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items.Education:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:
