What We’re Looking For:

Walstrom Marine is looking for an energetic and results-oriented General Manager for our Traverse City location. This person reports directly to the President of Walstrom Marine. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, positive team leader, ambitious, and excited to join a growing business in the marine industry with an established reputation in the Northern Michigan boating community. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee daily marina operations, ensuring efficiency and smooth functioning.

Coordinate and manage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

Develop and manage budgets, including forecasting revenue and controlling expenses.

Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and conflicts in a professional and timely manner.

Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans for marina and dealership growth and development.

Ensure a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members.

Collaborate, as needed, with the President to avoid any costly logistical or mechanical challenges.

Analyze operating and administrative procedures for all departments in an effort to assess and increase efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Prior marina and/or marine dealer management experience and a basic working knowledge of boat and yacht maintenance.

Experience in leadership roles and building positive relationships with team members.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle and resolve disputes.

Experience with IDS or similar ERP/service software systems.

Experience with budgeting and driving profitability.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.

Schedule:

8-hour shift

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, weekend availability required in the summer months
