Project Manager III Infrastructure San Francisco Public Utilities Commission 550

City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199

Job Description

Special Project: Wastewater Enterprise Renewal and Replacement Program - Treatment Facilities (WWERNRTF).

The Wastewater Enterprise Renewal and Replacement Program - Treatment Facilities (WWERNRTF) is an annually funded program that seeks to address deficiencies in wastewater facilities infrastructure assets. The projects in this program are prioritized based upon regulatory compliance, condition assessments, health and safety, operational reliability, Operation staff recommendations, and enterprise endorsed Level of Service goals. These projects seek to extend the useful life of treatment facility assets throughout San Francisco by helping to maintain their treatment capacity and performance and enable WWE to maintain regulatory compliance with Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) requirements.

The WWERNRTF Senior Project Manager (PM III) is responsible for managing multi-component construction projects for renewal and replacement of wastewater treatment facility assets. The program is funded by SFPUC revenue sources and is part of the Wastewater Enterprise 10-year capital plan. Over the next 10-year period, it is estimated to be $340 million ($34M/Year annually). At any given time, the PM III will be managing projects in various phases of project delivery ranging $50M - $100M in value.

The WWERNRTF Program prioritizes and addresses the operation and maintenance equipment deficiencies to avoid catastrophic failures and potential permit violations. The scope of these projects will include project management, planning, environmental review, design, construction, construction management, and closeout phases of wastewater treatment facilities infrastructure projects.

The PM III will take lead role in the successful implementation of the WWERNRTF program and may be assigned to supervise other Project Managers and technical or support staff, at the discretion of the Bureau Manager.

The Project Manager III will perform other related duties as assigned.
