FleishmanHillard, a global integrated communications agency, is seeking a practice lead to build and grow our high performing Bay Area Enterprise Technology Center of Excellence, working in partnership with our Global Managing Director of the Technology Sector, as well as other sector and client leaders. At FH, Technology is one of our largest and dynamic global sectors. Our clients entrust us to position them as responsible, leading innovators on the world stage through a wide range of communications expertise, ranging from media and industry analyst relations to reputation management to PR as part of integrated demand generation campaigns. As a skilled, proven technology PR practitioner and team builder, you will work closely with our teams to develop data-driven insights, advise client executives, and develop programs that our teams execute under your leadership to generate positive business impacts. You play a key role in developing new client offerings for the sector, and contribute to FleishmanHillard thought leadership on the evolution of communications to support sector growth.

FleishmanHillard San Francisco is currently working a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.

Responsibilities:

Experienced Professional:

You are a proven agency leader who’s comfortable counseling senior-level technology clients and capable of leading and growing team members through mentorship, coaching, and professional development. You have demonstrated an ability to:

Develop trusted advisor role with clients that leads to growth and positive client satisfaction

Elevate the performance of teams, inspiring them to innovate and develop new approaches and solutions, ultimately enhancing employee satisfaction

Manage teams and projects profitability – on time, on budget and with high levels of financial and operational acumen

Manage and mentor team members on client work, agency solutions development and ongoing skills acquisition at the forefront of the communications craft

Hands-On Practitioner:

You maintain strong relationships in the Bay Area with top-tier earned media, industry analysts, technology executives, and technology industry peers who know you for delivering positive business impacts by activating your relationships and the depth of your experience. You are on top of trends and can confidently deliver communications counsel on the implications of technology innovations and market changes, such as AI.

Market Leader:

You identify and successfully pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients. You have strong relationships with heads of marketing and communications at technology companies, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the West.

Thought Leader:

You are comfortable serving as an agency thought leader on the evolution of Enterprise Technology, and navigating the tensions of growth and responsible innovation for Bay Areas Technology leaders.

Collaborator:

You are strong, effective partner in new business, and collaborator with FH Technology sector leadership and global clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing, communications, journalism, or related field

Minimum 20 years’ experience in communications, agency experience is a must

At least five years of experience in a senior leadership role in a dynamic agency environment, with proven business acumen in technology practice and people development

Proven experience in developing new business and agency growth

Expert in the top communications skills in-demand by enterprise + AI technology leaders

Active thought leadership. Stay at the forefront of new channels, platforms, and technologies relevant to marketing and communications

Strong proficiency in multiple disciplines, including communications and marketing strategy in support of technology sector clients, the use of data in communications and for insights development, and effective use/management of a variety of communications services for client opportunities and challenges

Proven ability to build and cultivate relationships with senior-level clients, clearly identifying business challenges and the ways communications can address them

Demonstrated success in developing trusted relationships with clients as well as defining and driving client growth

Natural collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, ability to traverse multiple clients, projects and internal stakeholders and teams

Involvement in hiring and retaining team members; supporting individual team career pathing and contributing to team growth

Advocate for team members and showcase success across office and globally

The anticipated salary range for this position is $275,000.00 - $330,000.00.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
