Job Title: Creative DirectorReports to: Chief Executive OfficerClassification: Full-time
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, with required flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed for performances, events, and projects.
Job Summary:
The Creative Director works with the CEO and other staff to implement and guide the strategic vision and success for THCPA’s business operations and relationships (community role, ticket sales, rental relationships, and business enterprises), while ensuring the cohesion of visual and thematic style guide for THCPA, sales, and capital/fundraising campaigns. The position oversees many types of initiatives, including advertising campaigns, website, digital, video, and print design, social media, sales, media relations, and more. They also will work with the CEO to establish marketing budgets and campaign timelines, manage client, artist, and external relationships, and contribute to the venue's image and financial success.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as head of marketing, messaging, and media relations
Embody a creative mind to invent innovative concepts and campaigns
Exhibit strong leadership to ensure that all stakeholders work towards a common project vision and strategy
Exhibit excellent time-management and organizational skills, with a graceful nature to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in advertising and design
Cope and perform well under pressure
Have the knowledge of relevant software programs, for instance, graphic design packages
Exhibit good presentation skills to present effective pitches
Embody a solid understanding of the commercial aspects of performing arts sales
Create strategy and develop long-term marketing plans
Liaise with staff, vendors, designers, partners, media, and influencers on projects and campaigns
Develop a unified voice and identity through marketing campaigns
Write, edit, and publish marketing advertisements, press releases, programming publications, articles, archives and historic materials, and other written content
Produce marketing videos for social media and television
Monitor key performance indicators to track the success of campaigns
Report results of marketing campaigns to management team
Identify new demographics and regions for targeted marketing campaigns
Meet with clients, artist representation, media partners to discuss their requirements, and develop promotional vision and strategy
Brainstorm with CEO and entire team to develop ideas for campaigns and projects
Serve as chief designer
Develop layout for publications and choose visuals like photographs, artwork, graphics, and designs
Pitch concepts to artist managers, clients, advertisers, and regional partners by means of innovative presentations
Constantly liaise with clients, partners, artists, etc. during projects regarding progress, issues and changes
Nurture a work environment that is conducive to creative thinking
Hire, manage, and motivate the creative team
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational abilities, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent customer service skills and inter-personal skills and an ability to work as part of a team
Ability to effectively and civilly work with a diverse range of stakeholders: donors, guests, clients, staff, artists, and contractors
Excellent communication skills
Exemplary problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Competency in IT operations and management
Experience and general understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training, experience and education which provides required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the position.
3 years’ experience in marketing and design.
Previous training in professional theatre operations, performing arts, or a related field, preferred.
A background or interest in the performing arts, preferred.
Experience working with ticketing software, especially Spektrix preferred
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Environmental:
Work is performed primarily in an indoor theatre, and stage environment; exposure to noise, dust, variance in temperatures, moisture and/or humidity; electrical energy; work with machinery; work at heights on scaffolding and ladders. The employee may be required to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends.
Physical:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; work with and around equipment and machinery; perform physically demanding technical duties; walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting and carrying; bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling.
