Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.Job OverviewThe Senior Consultant, Government Relations is a seasoned expert responsible for managing existing and emerging risks and controls, supporting the overall mandate of the governance and controls team. The role uses deep knowledge in their field of expertise to manage and resolve all governance and control issues by providing coaching and high level consulting service to various business lines. The Senior Consultant, Government Relations acts as a subject matter expert on projects and initiatives, and manages all internal and external audit engagements. The role uses significant latitude in determining objectives, advising on governance and management of regulatory risk, implementation of regulatory strategies and standards, and with internal and external communications concerning regulatory topics. The role often operates in ambiguous situations and provides innovative, original ideas, accountable to broadly defined policy objectives.As an employee of CIBC the incumbent must conduct themselves (and foster an environment for others) in a manner consistent with our strong risk culture.
