Job Purpose and Overview
Leads, develops and implements strategies to manage and optimize the resources (people, materials, equipment, money and time) used to transform and produce the food products the business commercializes, guaranteeing that customer expectation on quality, volume, cost and timing of the service, are achieved, and the business results are aligned.
What will you do as a Plant Director at Dawn Foods?
Actively manage industrial safety in the operation of the plant and warehouses to guarantee a safe environment for all team members in Dawn and avoid accidents.
Manage security at the Dawn sites and protect Dawn's assets.
Manage the sites' environmental sustainability and compliance with all government regulations and internal rules.
Actively manage food safety to avoid microbiological, foreign material or chemical deviations that could develop into a health risk for consumers, and guarantee compliance with food regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and IFS standards and Dawn Quality System.
Actively manage product quality, ensuring the Product Design is replicated continuously, guaranteeing a delightful experience for customers and consumers with all Dawn products, and making the Dawn brand equity value grow through time.
Guarantee that government, certification organization, and customer audits achieve positive results in order to keep the business at a competitive level in every market.
Guarantee that the production schedules are achieved in time and volume, to protect the service to customer and the cost of the goods.
Manage the maintenance of the equipment, building, and Dawn assets in general to guarantee their productivity through time.
Manage the inventory levels and warehouses in the plant to optimize inventory, maintain good service level and protect cash flow.
Participate and be co-responsible for all capital investments, making sure they are the correct decisions to keep the business growth, and they are executed on time and on budget.
Actively participate and drive a continuous improvement program to improve the competitiveness of the business and its products, while improving safety, quality, output, and cost to World Class Manufacturing standards.
Coordinate a team of people, direct and indirectly reporting to him or her, making sure they have clear and aligned objectives, priorities and values that unite them into one single effort, permitting a good level of collaboration.
Together with the People Team, provide support to the extended team, making sure proper training is provided to everyone to guarantee individual and team performance at every level, enhancing everyone’s professional growth.
Together with People and Compensation teams, be responsible for hiring, promotion, discipline, compensation decisions in adherence to company policy.
Work with Research & Development and Marketing to create and launch new products successfully.
Understand and promote the philosophies and policies of Dawn Food Products, Inc. Support the Circle of Excellence and the Dawn Philosophy of Team Dawn.
Plan, develop, and share information regarding his site; KPI reporting, budgets, project control, etc.
What Does It Take to be a Plant Director at Dawn Foods?
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Food science is highly desirable. Master’s Degree and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification desirable.
10+ years of directly leading people in manufacturing plant environment, specifically from the highest level and/or a key decision maker within the plant; relevant experience in the manufacturing of food and/or bakery products is preferred.
Experience operating in a unionized labor environment is required.
Operational knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office and SAP) or ability to learn these skills.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Analytical problem-solving skills, time management skills, and servant leadership skills.
Exposure to and experience with GMP’s and IFS Standards, HAACP programs, USDA guidelines, and OSHA standards, food safety and plant safety programs.
Demonstrated history of continuous improvement, lean tools, and cost control.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to work in a professional office/manufacturing environment.
Travel required: Up to 10%.

Compensation Range:
$137,440 - $240,520 with bonus incentive
