Boston, Charlotte, NCWe are looking for a Loan Asset Management (LAM) Associate to work directly with Portfolio Finance’s deal team and external borrowers in the critical investment closing process and oversight through the life cycle of these complex portfolio level loan facilities.Team Overview:
Barings Portfolio Finance provides customized, complex, highly negotiated, proprietary secured loans to private asset managers. Barings Portfolio Finance manages the entire loan lifecycle. As such, the loan asset management team interacts regularly with the investment team, borrowers, and external stakeholders – from origination to offboarding.Primary Responsibilities:
Assist deal team with onboarding and closing new deals including participation in the review of legal documentation including credit agreements, loan & servicing agreements, amendments, account control agreements, and closing/settlement statements in relation to Loan Asset Management functions and best practices.On-going servicing and other administration functions on loans we service including compliance and covenant monitoring, borrower relationship management.Maintain complex financial models to record collateral data, test compliance metrics, and calculate waterfalls.Collaborate with Treasury & Investment Operations teams supporting investments.Develop and improve processes.Ensure deliverables are managed to a high standard and within timelines.Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Finance, related field or equivalent.2+ years of relevant investment, investment operations/support experience preferably with investing or servicing private equity, private real estate, or private credit and lending documents.Ability to develop credibility and build relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and partners.Excellent attention to detail.Demonstrate exceptional project/time management, coordination, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Moderate to Advanced use of Excel and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.Barings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
