INVO is seeking a short term Speech Therapist for elementary and preschool ASD students in Basking Ridge , NJ. The role involves assessing and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders to help students improve communication skills in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment
    Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations for students referred for services.

  • Therapy
    Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs) based on student needs. Provide direct therapy to improve speech articulation, language development, fluency, and other communication skills.

  • Collaboration
    Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure integrated support for the child’s development. Attend IEP meetings and provide updates on student progress.

  • Documentation
    Maintain detailed records of student evaluations, therapy sessions, progress notes, and IEP goals. Ensure all documentation complies with state and federal guidelines.

  • Consultation
    Provide consultation to teachers and staff on how to support speech and language development in the classroom environment.

  • Compliance
    Adhere to all district policies, state and federal regulations, including those related to special education (IDEA) and speech therapy services.

Qualifications
  • Required
    • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Valid New Jersey state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • NJ Department of education Certificate
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
    • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting preferred.
  • Skills
    • Strong knowledge of childhood language and speech disorders.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
    • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time or part-time, depending on the assignment.
  • The role is expected to last approximately 3 months.
