Inventory Control Specialist

Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage inventory with one of our long-term clients in the Auburn Hills area. The position is from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and starts at $17/hour. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and numerical proficiency, including handling serial numbers, part numbers, and quantities.

This role is crucial in ensuring inventory levels are maintained accurately and efficiently to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the kitting process, including assembling parts and materials into kits as required.
  • Verify that all components are included in each kit according to specifications.
  • Perform regular and accurate inventory counts to ensure stock levels match system records.
  • Conduct cycle counts and full physical inventories, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Handle serial numbers, part numbers, and quantities with precision.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to track and record inventory movements.
  • Update and maintain inventory databases with accurate information.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and shipping departments to ensure timely and accurate inventory handling.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Generate detailed inventory reports and provide insights into inventory levels, trends, and discrepancies.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure all inventory processes comply with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Implement best practices for safe and efficient inventory handling.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to inventory management procedures and processes.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance inventory control and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant degree or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, particularly in kitting and counting.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to handle serial numbers, part numbers, and quantities accurately.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
