Field Service Technician

• Field Service Technician
• Located in Akron
• Up to $28/hour based on previous experience.
• 1st shift from 6am-230pm, flexibility needed when travelling
• Direct Hire opportunity with the company.

As the Field Service Technician you would be responsible for constructing, rebuilding, and repairing machines and equipment.

• Read and interpret blueprints and other instructions to complete sub-assembly and/or final assembly of customized machines according to established guidelines and quality standards.
• Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprint.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble units according to required specifications.
• Consult with Engineering for custom product design projects.
• Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
• Aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together.
• Identify faulty components during the assembly process, make adjustments, and report them to management.
• Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts.
• Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
• Mechanically support electricians and programmers as needed.
• Occasionally traveling to customer sites to supervise and assist in installation and/or repair of machine products. Anticipated travel up to 10%.

• 3 years' experience in machine assembly or similar field.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints to assemble complex machinery.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 25-50 lbs.
• High School Diploma or GED, required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
• Will be subject to pre-employment screening.
