Associate Director, Annual Giving (Regular, Full- Time)

Development

Reporting to the Assistant VP, Individual Giving, the Associate Director, Annual Giving oversees the museum’s annual LACMA Fund—generating unrestricted support for the museum. The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the overall program strategy including direct mail and digital fundraising, in order to grow the supporter base, renew memberships and upgrade gifts to reach a goal over time of $5 million in contributions. Additionally, the Associate Director will manage Curator’s Circle, as well as other groups as assigned. The ideal candidate will both enjoy interfacing and managing groups within LACMA’s donor base, while also being adept at using Tessitura to pull mail files and sophisticated reports.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the strategy development, design and implementation of the annual LACMA Fund direct mail and online giving solicitations to increase the number of donors and prospectsDevelops an annual strategic plan for growing the annual giving programManages a detailed schedule of direct marketing activities, including copywriting, design, production, mailing, and list selection and segmentation. Works closely with external partners, including consultants and vendorsAnalyzes performance of the annual LACMA Fund campaigns and appeals to refine the segmentation strategyTracks and manages expense budgets, and monitors income reports for the Annual Giving ProgramsManages staff and provides oversight for LACMA Fund administration, Curator’s Circle and other groups as assignedEdits and approves annual giving program-related correspondenceOversees the timeline, communications and process for renewals, invitations, and acknowledgement lettersWorks with staff to establish a calendar of both cultivation and stewardship activity for annual giving program patronsRegularly participates in donor events, including evenings and weekends as needed; some travel required to meet with donors and implement programmatic activityWorks with the broader Individual Giving team to strategize recognition and stewardship across all gift levelsCollaborates with curators, volunteers, membership staff and others to move potential Annual Giving constituents into the programCollaborates with major gifts, leadership and principal gifts teams to move potential support toward the major gift levelWorks cross-departmentally and closely with the greater Development team, Membership team, Events team, Curators, and Program staff at LACMAParticipates in case development for all gift levels and opportunities for support at LACMAMaintains regular and reliable attendancePerforms other duties or special projects as assignedBenefits

The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.LACMA is committed to providing its employees with valuable and competitive benefits as a core part of a strong overall employee experience.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degreeAt least 5 years of experience with non-profit fundraising, including experience in annual funds, individual giving, patron groups and membershipExperience using Tessitura is required2-3 years of management experienceKnowledge of Art History is preferred
