ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The Business Development Director will support and guide internal and external relationships as Essex Brownell expands into new markets. This position will lead the business development effort for locating new business opportunities, researching leads, and establishing relationships with potential customers in the Automotive, Electronics, Electrical Component Distribution, and HEV/EV Battery space.This professional must be a strategic and critical thinker with a proven record of success in expanding company objectives and exceeding business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Aggressive and proactive research to identify, qualify and target potential clients.

· Develop strategy to initiate contact and relationship building

· Develop contacts and relationships to create leads and introductions to key decision-makers

· Create, collaborate, and present proposals and presentations to prospective clients

· Communicate business terms, write SOWs, and close leads

· Develop business model and structure by collaborating with distribution business team (SXB)

· Report monthly on the progress and key pursuits

· Assemble and manage a highly motivated business development team.

· Willingness to travel as required and budget allows

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Strong business acumen.

· Ability to analyze, develop, sell in, and manage business strategies and plans.

· Self-starter with ability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines

· Effective communication and negotiation skills.

· Exceptional leadership and management skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field. Seven (7) Years of Related experience in Automotive, Electronics, Electrical Component Distribution, and HEV/EV Battery.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
