CACI is looking for a Lead Developer for a web-based Task Authoring Software Tool to provide the Lunar Gateway Program at NASA Johnson Space Center with software and technical coordination skills in the development of an application for creation of executable tasks used to support autonomous operations onboard the Gateway. This exciting position involves software estimation, sprint planning, development work coordination, design, development, test, integration, and troubleshooting of automated task generation software.

The Gateway in lunar orbit will support astronaut habitation and allow easy access to the lunar surface for exploration. Gateway will also provide a test bed for development of planetary exploration spacecraft technologies.

More About the Role:

Job responsibilities include:

Estimate, plan and coordinate the development work for the team.

Design and develop software for creation of Gateway executable tasks.

Perform testing to ensure requirements are being met.

Perform integration of Task Authoring Tool components with external interfaces and interfaces to the Gateway data toolchain.

Perform troubleshooting of Task Authoring Tool discrepancies.

Adhere to JSC standard software process practices.

This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

B.S. in Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.

Full stack developer with at least five years of related experience.

Agile development experience.

Experience leading the development effort for a team.

Experience planning and estimating software development work.

Experience developing web applications and web services, including database back-end, middle-ware, and front-end.

Experience with Java and JavaScript.

Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.

Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

M.S. in Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner.

Experience developing single page web applications with REST back end.

Experience with GitLab Continuous Integration (CI).

Experience with JSON Web Token (JWT).

Experience with NASA software tool requirements.

Experience with SQL (DML and DDL) PostgreSQL flavor

Experience with CSS, Custom Elements (JS ES6+/HTML 5).

Experience with XML schemas and JAXB.

Experience with Java 17+, and Jakarta EE (TomEE implementation).

Experience with unit testing frameworks Junit and Karma.

Experience with Docker, Docker Desktop, and Docker compose.

Experience with .NET Core.

Experience with Entity Framework Core.

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100 - 172,400 USD
