Manager Creative Services Design

Manages operational delivery, cost model, and professional employees who provide customer-focused and professional internal creative agency services to internal clients. Facilitates traffic, project management and creative delivery of cost effective and high-quality creative materials based on briefs from stakeholders across the organization. Executes overall strategy for the department to assure quality design execution as well as maintaining effective resource management and processes. Maintains impeccable knowledge of brand guidelines and resources. Establishes a measurement model and provides production tracking to drive continuous improvement in design, video and multimedia. Accountable for design quality, process improvements for creative execution across UL.

Responsibilities

Maintains an understanding of target audiences, business segments, and collaborates with internal subject matter experts.

Manages the performance of team members by providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

Directing and motivating teams of designers to help them use their talents effectively.

Oversee client pitches and proposals

Oversee cost model, deliverables, timelines and budgets on design projects.

Meet with clients or upper management to explain strategies and solutions

Ensures that effective and transparent production processes, cost models and staffing strategies are in place, managed and continuously improved.

Collaborates with strategy to define the experience strategy and sets design vision.

Passionately and curiously studies design principles and best practices.

Develop team skills and advance career development of team.

Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices

Proactive in looking at more efficient ways to templatize and create a repeatable process for our designers.

Actively making sure our staffing model is accurate and managing our outside staffing agencies for designers.

Participates in and leads brainstorming sessions

Generally 8 years or more of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency including 2 years or more of relevant management/leadership experience or demonstrated competency

Hand-on experience in creative process, digital marketing, video, multimedia design and brand development

leadership and organization skills

Experience researching and staying current on design/video trends

Interpersonal and analytical abilities

Proven leadership ability in team building

Mentoring and managing creative talent

Possesses a growth mindset and creative problem solving skills

Possesses strong presentation skills and excels at communicating design concepts to non-design stakeholders

Operates well across multiple simultaneous projects

Understanding, solving and delivering work answering the creative brief.

Experience with using staffing agencies.

Experience providing cost analysis and efficient design processes.

Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud.

Experience using templated services as an extension to creative execution.
