Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for philanthropy? Do you have a knack for crafting compelling messages? We invite you to apply for the position of Director of Annual Giving and Communications at Dakota State University!

As the Director of Annual Giving and Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our annual giving strategies. You’ll be a part of our Institutional Advancement team and report directly to the Senior Director of Philanthropy.

Responsibilities:

Lead the annual giving efforts at the highest levels, setting clear goals, devising strategic plans, and ensuring our marketing and stewardship materials resonate with donors.

Develop segmentation and solicitation strategies, determining appropriate ask amounts for all prospects to maximize fundraising potential.

Oversee the DSU Annual Giving Program, focusing on increasing the annual fund year over year.

Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with annual giving prospects and donors, ensuring a seamless and rewarding donor experience.

Supervise all annual giving programs including leadership annual giving, day of giving, direct marketing, customize annual giving platforms, and Foundation and Alumni Boards Annual Giving.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or a related field is required.

5 years or more of experience working in Advancement/Development for higher education or a nonprofit. This experience may be substituted with equivalent or similar experience in another relevant work environment.

Strong combination of creative, analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail.

Proficiency with database management systems.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of philanthropic partners.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
