The primary responsibilities of a Senior Youth Counselor are to provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth. This position provides for the physical, personal and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development; provides an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students; monitors and documents student behaviors and activities; participates and assists with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities; works in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.To be considered, you should:Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.Have 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study.Be at least 21 years of age.Have a High School Diploma or GED.Supervisory experience preferred.Have a desire to work with troubled teens.Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.ResponsibilitiesSupervise Coach Counselors on your shift through direct supervision, training, development and reinforcement of a strong staff culture.Various reporting responsibilities related to student supervision, incident reports, managing of staff hours to reduce overtime, and documentation of student progress.Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and various training.Develop and implement activities.SkillsDevelops healthy relationships with staff and students and maintains firm boundaries.Calm under pressure and provides leadership and guidance to stabilize the environment of care. Works well in a dynamic environment and seeks ways to provide consistency and systems of support.Works proactively to prevent issues. Forward thinking and how to improve the environment of care each day.Comfortable using Word, Excel, and learning new technology.Excellent communicator both in-person and through emails and reports.Job Type:
