Job ObjectiveThe purpose of this requirement is to support CDC in its effort to gather and analyze data from longitudinal pregnant people and infant surveillance and Birth Defects surveillance/registry systems, as well as provide services to support CDC activities related to neonatal abstinence syndrome to make use of existing state bio surveillance and other surveillance tools to improve voluntary, de-identified prenatal and newborn health data. Data may include opioid-related information before and during pregnancy to reduce risks associated with neonatal abstinence syndrome and optimize care.Minimum Requirements5 years’ experience in public health communication rolesExperience drafting health education messages and products for a variety of health data efforts.Experience coordinating with education providers, health care providers, and other public service providers.Experience developing or coordinating graphics and writing products.Experience drafting or reviewing drafts of documents to ensure projects meet the principles of sound health communication evaluation.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, design, and analyze web content for DBDID projectsDraft and review communications information concerning surveillance systems within DBDID, which may include script writing, fact sheets, and one-pagersReview, revise, and refresh the design and layout of web pages monthlyAssure 508 compliance for all online communication products, i.e., materials, frequently asked questions, appendices (50-75 products)Develop PowerPoint 10-15 presentations for scientific meetings annuallyTravel to partner meeting annually to review communications content and obtain stakeholder input; travel is local to Atlanta, GAServe as the central point of contact and coordinate outreach efforts about the surveillance system to designated jurisdictions; professional organizations; jurisdictions; and other key partnersMust be prepared to travel and attend an in person meeting and participate in at least 2-3 site visits at least once a year to a funded jurisdiction. Site visit dates and locations may varyMust be prepared to attend a conference (to be determined) at least twice a year.
