Job Overview:A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking an experienced Lateral Associate Attorney with a focus on construction law to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring boutique-level construction experience, a substantial book of business, and a strong commitment to client service. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage extensive expertise in construction law while contributing to a collaborative and dynamic legal environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and manage high-profile construction law cases, including litigation, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert legal counsel and representation in construction-related matters.Draft, review, and negotiate complex construction contracts, including project agreements, subcontracts, and related documentation.Handle disputes related to construction defects, project delays, breaches of contract, and insurance claims.Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, mediation, and before regulatory bodies.Develop and implement strategic legal approaches to effectively address clients' construction challenges and objectives.Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on large-scale construction projects, ensuring comprehensive legal support.Mentor junior attorneys and staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.Expand the firm’s client base by leveraging existing relationships and generating new business opportunities.Stay current with industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes in construction law.Requirements:Demonstrated experience in

construction law

at a boutique-level or similarly specialized firm.Proven

book of business

with a strong track record of successful client management and case handling.Commitment to

client service , with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain client relationships.Exceptional

communication skills , both written and verbal, with a focus on effective advocacy and negotiation.Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a

team-oriented

work environment.Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to handle a diverse caseload independently.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.)

degree from an accredited law school.Active membership

in good standing with the

Tennessee Bar .Skills:Extensive knowledge of

construction law , including litigation, contract management, and regulatory compliance.Strong

negotiation and arbitration skills , with a proven ability to achieve favorable outcomes.Proficient in drafting and reviewing

complex legal documents

related to construction projects.Excellent

analytical and problem-solving abilities , with a keen attention to detail.Ability to effectively

manage a book of business

and drive client development.Leadership and mentoring

skills, with experience guiding junior attorneys and support staff.High level of

professionalism and ethical standards

in all client and legal matters.Experience:Minimum of

10+ years

of experience in construction law, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex cases and manage client relationships.
