Responsibilities/Qualifications

Intrado is looking to hire a Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Director to join our team. 

The Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Director is responsible for leading the technical accounting function within the organization. This role involves overseeing the interpretation and implementation of complex accounting standards, providing guidance on accounting policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Director plays a critical role in supporting financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of the company's financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting Guidance
    Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, and financial instruments

  • Policy Development
    Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards

  • Financial Reporting
    Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

  • Regulatory Compliance
    Ensure the organization adheres to all relevant accounting regulations and disclosure requirements

  • Audit Support
    Act as primary contact with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support financial statement assertions

  • Training and Development
    Provide training and guidance to accounting staff on technical accounting matters and updates to accounting standards

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to address accounting-related issues and ensure cohesive financial management

  • Special Projects
    Lead or participate in special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification is required
  • Master's degree is preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, with significant experience in technical accounting and financial reporting
  • 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy

The starting salary is anticipated between $165,000 and $180,000 to start and will be commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
