Job Overview:

Be on the front lines of a store like no other. As part of our store management team, you’ll lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team, balancing creativity with commerce to execute in-store success. Part business consultant, part relationship guru, and 100% leader, you’ll contribute and collaborate to drive the business forward. The Trade Area Operations/AP Leader (TAO/AP) manages all Operations and Asset Protection talent and functions for their Trade Area, focusing on delivering sales/EBIT through execution of corporate, Trade Area and store initiatives. The TAO/AP has oversight and accountability for building and cultivating a motivated, skilled, and equipped operations and asset protection team in store and in Trade Area. As the TAO/AP, you will partner with the Trade Area Vice President (TAVP)/General Manager (GM) to proactively enhance and deploy Operations and Asset Protection initiatives that drive sales, improve service scores, and increase overall standards for the entire Trade Area.

Essential Functions:

Fueled by the Power of Relationships

Develops and implements processes to deliver the financials by leveraging Central Operations, Asset Protection, and in trade area and in store leadership partners.

Collaborates with GM/Store Leadership to execute and drive Central Operations and AP policy, standards, strategies, and workload completion:

Big Day Execution

Fulfillment – to meet merchandise fill rate standards for CS/SS, BOPS/SDD, BOSS

Floor Ready standards in receiving to deliver Merchandise to Sell process for Sales Associates

Returns - ensure saleable and secure (re-senso, re-ticket, return to home department or follow the chit)

NCT/COT compliance to increase opportunity to increase store’s replenishment

BOPS ready on time to meet customer expectations

Fulfillment ship on time to provide customer shipment tracking visibility

Housekeeping standards, holding 3rd party provider accountable

100% Safety compliance with detailed analysis, addressing causes and avoiding repetition

Addresses facilities issues in partnership with Macy’s DFM and Central providing a safe environment for customers and associates.

Delivers or exceeds metrics in primary store and trade area stores.

Analyzes the store and trade area P & L monthly and executes strategies to exceed plan.

Works with Central, TAVP/GMs/OPMs/APMs on accurate sales/expense forecasting/productivity.

Executes strategies to achieve expense rate for store/Trade Area including Big Days.

Achieves Net Promoter Score (NPS) goal:

Maximize and drive HUR compliance to improve NPS “Available” scores.

Monitor staffing comments on NPS and with staffing team address issues/opportunities.

Review “Clean, neat, easy to shop” and address store presentation.

Ensures 100% compliance with all Bloomingdale’s audit and merchandise security standards.

Achieves 90% or better markdown compliance, Return to Vendor (RTV) and job out completion for primary store/trade area Administer and delivers store shortage plan.

Maintains and adheres to payroll, expense, and capital budgets.

Drives company shortage action plan and store-specific shortage reduction strategies across sales and support teams.

Provides emergency preparedness/physical security for associates and customers.

Builds awareness of theft and fraud mitigation strategies across selling and support teams.

Understands talent capacity and promotes career growth, ensuring timely execution of all aspects of performance management process.

Qualifications and Competencies:

We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply.

3-5 years direct experience.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Able to use a calculator.

Reasoning Ability:

Requires ability to manage people, resources, and workflow independently and effectively with minimal direction to drive business outcomes.

Able to work as part of a team.

Other Skills:

Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Superior organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to build cross functional relationships across the organization.

Must possess a strong sense of urgency.

Work Hours:

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality is required.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.

Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders.

Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.

Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
