Gabelli School of Business UndergraduateReporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Director for Student Engagement and Retention will lead admission related activities, provide increased and intentional yield activities for admitted students, coordinate current and develop new retention programming, and provide support to increase graduation rates for the Gabelli School of Business (GSB) Rose Hill and Lincoln Center.Essential Functions:Develops targeted retention related events and programs for first-year students on both campuses, including expanding the STAR Program opportunities at both campuses and developing a faculty engagement series for undergraduate students.Manages the Woolworth Scholars Engagement Programming at the Rose Hill campus.Creates sophomore retention activities, including academic competition opportunities.Develops targeted strategies at both campuses to improve graduation rates.Coordinates a Gabelli School of Business case competition to engage domestic colleges and universities in conjunction with the Associate Dean and Senior Assistant Dean.Oversees and expands summer high school programs for both campuses.Supports all undergraduate admission-related activities, including event and logistics management, calendar planning, and admissions related communications from the GSB Dean’s Office, with a specific focus on increasing yield-related activities for admitted and deposited students.Manages honors program selection for incoming students under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Honors Opportunities and reads applications for incoming students in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Honors Opportunities.Management Responsibilities:

Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.Required Qualifications: Education and Experience:

Advanced degree; Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an academic advising capacity.Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills:Ability to work with various groups of people, including faculty, students, and administration.Ability to write and speak persuasively and to act as a professional representative of the Gabelli School of Business as required.Demonstrated ability to advise and teach in an AACSB-accredited business school.A track record of commitment to student development and meeting the higher education needs of students.Preferred Qualifications:

Preference for someone with a business background or experience advising in a business education setting.Minimum Starting Salary:
