The Opportunity:
As our new Medical Billing Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization as we broaden our reach. This is a unique chance to apply your skills in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where your work directly supports life-changing care for our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
Ensure accuracy of patient medical information and billing records
Generate bills, invoices, and document amounts due for medical procedures and services
Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations
Monitor and record payments, following up on overdue accounts
Investigate and appeal denied claims
Assist patients with developing payment plans
Maintain billing software and generate financial reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a primary care or medical setting
Solid understanding of medical billing software and electronic health records
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing procedures
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
