This position requires a driven individual capable of handling complex litigation matters independently while working collaboratively with the firm’s team.Key Responsibilities:Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and other court filings.Represent clients in California state and federal courts at hearings, trials, and other proceedings.Collaborate with legal staff, clients, and external parties to gather evidence, assess case details, and develop strategies.Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients regarding case status, updates, and advice.Ensure timely compliance with all court deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements.Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff as needed.Stay current with changes in California laws and litigation practices.Requirements:Minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience at a sophisticated law firm, specifically in California courts.Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation cases from inception through resolution.Strong understanding of California court procedures, rules, and regulations.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Education & Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skills.Exceptional writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in litigation technology and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced legal environment.High degree of professionalism and ethical standards.
