Job Title: Network L2 EngineerDepartment:

Information and Communications Technology (ICT)Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network L2 Engineer to join our team in a Whole-of-Government (WOG) environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with a variety of network products, including Aruba ClearPass, Palo Alto and Check Point Firewalls, Cisco switches, routers, and wireless controllers, as well as F5 Load Balancers. The Network L2 Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the network infrastructure to ensure high performance, availability, and security.Key Responsibilities:Network Administration:

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers.Ensure the optimal performance, security, and availability of the network infrastructure.Implement and maintain network policies and procedures.

Security Management:

Manage and configure firewall rules and policies on Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls.Monitor and respond to network security incidents and vulnerabilities.Implement security best practices and compliance requirements.

Access Control:

Administer and configure Aruba ClearPass for network access control.Ensure secure and compliant access to network resources.

Configure and manage F5 Load Balancers to optimize application delivery.Monitor load balancer performance and troubleshoot issues.Wireless Network Management:

Manage and troubleshoot Cisco wireless controllers and access points.Ensure optimal wireless network performance and coverage.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Monitor network performance using various tools and respond to incidents.Perform root cause analysis and resolve network issues in a timely manner.Provide Level 2 support for network-related issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation.Prepare and deliver reports on network performance, incidents, and changes.

Work closely with other IT teams to support and implement network solutions.Collaborate with external vendors and service providers.Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration and support.Experience in a WOG or similar large-scale environment is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco switches, routers, wireless controllers).Strong knowledge of firewall management (Palo Alto, Check Point).Experience with network access control solutions (Aruba ClearPass).Familiarity with load balancing technologies (F5 Load Balancers).Understanding of network security best practices and protocols.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, CCSA, F5-CA) are highly desirable.
