Job Summary:We are building systems to extend our market leadership for another 90 years. We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to design experiences for Grainger's enterprise applications and systems so that we continue to be the destination for "the ones that get it done."The Senior User Experience Designer uses both interaction design and research skills to design our internal tools - a suite of custom enterprise tools that allow our employees to drive exceptional customer experiences.Key Responsibilities:Work with Product Managers, Engineers and User Interface Designers to design user experiences for our internal customersCollaborate with other UX and UI Designers to align patterns and prioritiesCreate early-stage concepts to facilitate discussion, feedback, and alignmentFacilitate discussions with users and stakeholders to define experience needsTranslate business requirements and user needs into tangible interaction designs through detailed user flows and annotated wireframesUnderstand technical and business constraints and scale designs for iterative release, ensuring user needs are met in each iterationEvaluate current experiences and provide recommendations for improvementCommunicate design decisions, rationale, and direction when presenting workDevelop detailed documentation for design standardsPlan and conduct user research, user testing and secondary researchRequired Skills and Experience:Formal education in Human Centered Design, Design Methods, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or related field3+ years of UX experience working with an agile product team; corporate B2B experience preferredA deep understanding of design, usability, and research best practicesExperience designing for complex business processesExperience contributing to a pattern library or design systemProficiency in common wireframing toolsStrong written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong facilitation skillsInitiative to proactively plan and execute workThe ability to make thoughtful decisions when faced with ambiguityWork samples that show how you broke down complexity, empathized with the user, and balanced user needs, business needs, and technical considerations
