Salary Range:

$30.7500 - $47.2800/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.Part-timePrimary Duties and Responsibilities

The Counselor II supports the SolMar Retreat and Hoag Addiction Treatment Center (HATC) treatment team in the assessment, treatment planning, referral recommendations, discharge planning, education, and direct therapeutic intervention for patients and their families throughout the course of treatment. Supports the goals of the patient’s treatment plan and assists in the clinical care and case management. Coordinates care with outside providers by referrals when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.SolMar Retreat:In addition to the above, Counselor II assists with admissions and discharges, assuring all admissions and discharge documents are signed. Conducts screenings/intake assessments as needed and within the incidental medical services (IMS) guidelines found in the IMS policies and procedures manual. Provides clients with an orientation about the program, rules, and a tour of the unit, including their assigned room. Assists in searching belongings at the time of admission as well as random room searches in the residential level of care. Intervenes as an advocate for clients or patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.Conducts group counseling sessions and manages group sessions as assigned. Leads/facilitates lectures for clients. Ensures all documentation regarding patient care, group counseling sessions, treatment, and incidents are completed in a timely and clear manner. Participates in case conferences and staff meetings. Leads and coordinates the community meeting for clients (residential level of care). Assists and encourages clients to participate in self-help groups, such as AA/NA. Communicates with HCP/physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Supervisor of Addiction Care regarding physician orders, prescriptions, and refills as needed. Observes self-administration of medications and documents in client EMR.Documents daily living activities and vital information. Records patient behaviors and informs Supervisor of Addiction Care and Clinical Manager of any changes in behavior. Receives and presents change of shift reports as assigned.Education and Experience

High School Graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree in Behavioral Science or Allied Mental Health preferred.Two years minimum experience in addiction/behavioral health required.Three years of experience in addiction/behavioral health environment preferred.Working knowledge of CARF and/or JCAHO accreditation standards required.Knowledge of the 12-step, Smart Recovery, and other treatment models required.Knowledge of HIPAA required.In addition, knowledge and understanding of incidental medical services/MAT per IMS policies and procedures required.Certifications Required
