The Nurse Practitioner will provide continuity of care to patients at Zuckerberg San Francisco Hospital. The NP will provide nursing care and patient advocacy for patients with complex pulmonary problems who are undergoing pulmonary diagnostic procedures and subsequent work-ups in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating appropriate interventions for a patient's current, changing or potential clinical status; instruct patients about specific diagnostic procedures and how to prepare for the procedure utilizing patient education materials; respond to and participate in the management of emergency clinical situations. The NP is actively involved in optimizing and improving clinical services through case conferences, staff meetings, quality improvement, education, and assurance activities.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate).Department Description

The mission of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) is to provide comprehensive medical care for the community, to develop innovative research aimed at elucidating basic mechanisms of disease, and to translate its research activities into both new clinical initiatives and a rich training environment for the next generation of academic physician scientists.Required Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years Nurse Practitioner experienceNurse Practitioner experience in the Pulmonary field dealing with patients with complex pulmonary problemsExperience writing multidisciplinary conference summariesExperience with sputum induction, performing moderate sedation or bronchoscopies, and thoracentesis and pleural biopsy proceduresExperience with ZSFG's EPIC systemPhlebotomy skillsAbility to obtain medical staff privileges at ZSFGSelf-directed with excellent collaborative skillsAbility to respond and participate in the management of emergency clinical situationsPreferred Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of clinical RN employment experience in a clinical care settingWorking knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and InternetLicense/Certification

California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.

Accepted Certifications: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC

Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice.Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day.Current AHA BLS.Current AHA ACLS.State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.About UCSF
