With this position, you assume the key role in achieving company goals and objectives relative to inventory, investment, customer service, transportation costs, purchasing of all items relative to company business and projects. Responsible for procurement, expediting, traffic and freight, price/terms analysis and negotiations. Responsible for ongoing improvement plan and implementation to reduce material cost while ensuring consistency of quality, on-time delivery, and superior customer service. Responsible for the subcontractor administration program to ensure only qualified and quality subcontractors are utilized in performing assigned contracts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of sourcing/procurement, vendor management, planning, contractual costs, and inventory with an annual spend of $200M. Build and implement purchase plans based on trailing demands, and forecasted sales that balance with lead times, safety stock, and space constraints. Lead, coach, and train direct reports. Partner and work closely with customers and suppliers to drive effective planning procedures and policies that will drive cost-beneficial improvements. Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned categories' impact of price volatility on price performance. Effectively resolve all material non-conformance issues. Subcontractor administration - maintaining qualified subcontractor sources - negotiating and executing subcontractor agreements. Research and evaluation of new subcontractors to add to the qualification source list. Administer a comprehensive freight program realizing reduced costs and control of freight. Administration of a comprehensive material tracking and expediting program to ensure timely delivery of all material.
Qualifications: Education and Experience BS Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Management. Minimum 10 years' experience as Senior Supply Chain Manager in a large industrial environment. Comprehensive experience and knowledge of contract administration. Working knowledge of FAR and DFAR, and the principles of CPSR (Contractor Purchasing System Review). Extensive experience in contract negotiations and administration of large subcontract programs. Prior experience working with both government contractors and commercial contractors in a ship repair/maintenance environment a plus. Experience with Oracle, MAS 500. Knowledge of IMO, SOLAS, and U. S. Coast Guard regulations preferred. Experience in working with manufacturing-based technology preferred. Proficient with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
