This role primarily focuses on patent prosecution and counseling, with opportunities to support a variety of related legal work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property law, particularly in patent prosecution, and a technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, or computer science.Duties

Handle all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, responding to Office Actions, and managing patent portfolios.Provide patent counseling and strategic advice to clients on patent-related issues, including freedom-to-operate analyses and patentability assessments.Support various patent litigation matters, including conducting research and preparing legal documents.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and execute intellectual property strategies.Stay current with changes in patent laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide up-to-date advice.Assist with patent-related transactions, including licensing agreements and mergers & acquisitions.Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss patent strategies and developments.Requirements

2 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling.Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or a related field.Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Membership in the U.S. Bar and registration to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or a related field.JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications

U.S. Bar membership.Registration to practice before the USPTO.Skills

Strong understanding of patent prosecution processes and patent law.Technical expertise in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, or computer science.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to analyze complex technical and legal issues.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.Proficiency in legal research tools and patent databases.
