Summary

The Manager - Office, Conference Center, and Employee Experience will be responsible for working collaboratively with many departments across our Association to create a positive, engaging and supportive work environment. This position will also be the lead in managing APTA Centennial Center’s conference center in partnership with our outsourced Events team, providing service to APTA staff, members, and external partners for all activities, including meetings, social activities, and other public and private events.

Essential Functions

Maintain an annual calendar of APTA hosted events and Centennial Center.

Track and report annual data on APTA’s internal and external meetings.

Oversee and partner with the outsourced events management vendor to execute external and internal events within the agreed upon SOPs and guidelines.

Coach and mentor department Associate to ensure that customer service is accomplished individually and through teamwork.

Conduct weekly meetings with outsourced vendor’s staff and building management to review the schedule of applicable events.

Regularly inspect Conference Center areas to ensure a consistently professional image.

Provide responsive, knowledgeable, and astute reservations service.

Support foundational audiovisual needs for meetings including Zoom, Teams presentation software, and add-ons.

In coordination with IT Support, ensure that outsourced conference center vendor staff are trained in Conference Center Technology.

Promote client service throughout the department.

Research, recommend, and execute regular employee experience activities.

Serve as APTA staff lead in the planning, coordination, and execution related to office meetings and employee engagement opportunities.

Develop timelines for office events and meetings.

Establish and maintain excellent relationships across all departments.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a similar position in a client service-focused industry.

Ability to translate an executed contract into a highly successful event.

Vendor management experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Experience in the hospitality industry, including catering, is a plus.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Budget management skills.

Strong client service ethic.

Ability to foster a positive, motivated team.

Ability to maintain high standards of professionalism.

Strong organizational skills.

Creative and curious.

Supervision experience.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% - National
