OverviewThe William Morrow Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking a Marketing Manager. The Morrow Group is comprised of several imprints – flagship imprint William Morrow, as well as Dey Street Books, Mariner Books, Harvest, Harper Voyager, and Avon Books – and publishes a range of titles across most publishing categories, from bestselling mysteries and romances to prize-winning literary fiction, cookbooks, politics, and pop culture titles. The Morrow Group’s authors include Karin Slaughter, R.F. Kuang, Julia Quinn, Dave Grohl, Lucy Foley, Tessa Bailey, Tabitha Brown, Don Winslow, Joanna Gaines, and more. In this role, you will work on title-specific marketing campaigns for a variety of books and genres across all Morrow imprints. This position is based out of NYC on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
Conceives, develops, and executes innovative marketing plans for 5-7 books per season
Communicates detailed campaign updates directly to editors, publicists, publishers, sales teams, agents, and authors
Advises authors on building and optimizing their social media presence and overall platform
Develops a variety of creative content for campaigns that includes, but is not limited to, sell-in materials for reps and accounts, social media content, and advertising copy for consumer facing promotions
Analyzes performance on key marketing tactics using social listening tools, sales data, and advertising reporting dashboards
Oversees budgets for assigned titles
Collaborates with ad/promo, content creation, publicity, sales, and editorial teams
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in trade book marketing
Experience working on creative, timely campaigns to reach target audiences
Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Exceptional written and oral communications skills, positive attitude, and a high level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail
Comfortable presenting in front of large groups
Demonstrated knowledge of the digital landscape, current marketing trends, social media and advertising best practices
MS Office Suite required; Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design programs are a bonus, plus a keen eye for design

The salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
