Job Description:FoFA is a cross-functional team which handles multiple functions within Global Fund services supporting the fund trading and rebalancing operations of Collective Investment Trusts. Activities include but are not limited to: Trading, Reporting, Rebalancing, and Vendor Relationships.

Responsible for overseeing and undertaking all activities including trading, new fund launches, setup, dividend activities, sub accounting, and vendor relationships in relation to FoFA dealing activities. Manages large and/or complex projects such as operational process re-design, new business/product initiatives, process re-engineering and provides multi-disciplinary consulting service to internal partners, external parties, and clients. Technical experts without management responsibilities, seen as key advisors on significant business decisions. Keeps abreast of emerging industry trends. Maintains regular contact with peers internal and external to the firm, including regulators and professional organizations.

A successful candidate will be someone who is highly adaptable, excels at problem-solving, is comfortable with complexity, thrives in a deadline-oriented, multi-faceted business task environment, and is excited about working on a start-up cross-functional team. Excellent communication skills are also required to develop and manage relationships with external Clearing Correspondents, external Mutual Fund Companies, Transfer Agents, and internal business partners.

The ideal candidate should have reasonable knowledge of the end-to-end process for collective investment trusts - how they are sold in the marketplace, and the operational interactions between a financial services intermediary or retirement recordkeeper and a fund transfer agent. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to learn the operating environment surrounding retirement plan servicing and fund servicing, and to understand the roles and responsibilities of participants in the trading and settlements process for investor and for fund-of-funds transactions.

The candidate will be expected to understand or be capable of learning data and file flows and industry tools, and to maintain a working knowledge of industry practices such as National Securities Clearing Corp (NSCC) processing. Ideally, the candidate should have experience with intermediary agreements and should understand subscription/investor account opening processes for Collective Investment Trusts or be able to quickly acquire working knowledge of those.

The candidate will assist in creating the service model and infrastructure for a team who will coordinate day-to-day activities related to Fund of Funds Administration. The team’s activities include but are not limited to the oversight of service providers, coordination of intermediary agreements, maintenance of allocation profiles, providing data and reporting to inform rebalancing decisions, and supporting clients and partners with queries and issue resolution.

The candidate will work with Clients, Service Providers, and internal Client partner teams to focus on strategic operational and governance solutions, focused on the unique needs of Fund of Funds and Multi-Manager Funds.

Experience in the financial services industry is required, with preference to candidates with directly related experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical.

Major Duties:

Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit/function

As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level

Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, and technically difficult

Role is balanced between high-level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities

Conducts preliminary analysis

Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management

Strategic in developing, implementing, and administering programs within functional areas

Coordinates with clients, external parties, and partners to oversee processes related to Fund of Funds and/or Multi-Manager funds

Coordinate with clients and partners to establish and maintain relevant Intermediary agreements. Oversee processes to update and maintain asset allocation instructions in the relevant systems

Coordinate structural changes, including maintaining action plans related to client changes

Oversee daily activity and work with partner areas to resolve any issues in a timely manner

Maintain appropriate documentation on processes and controls

Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant industry practices, regulations, and company processes

Qualifications:What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?

- Middle Office/ops - Mutual Funds, Hedge funds or Fund of Fund experience a must

Experience:

8+ years relevant industry experience required

Direct experience with collective funds and mutual funds operations strongly preferred
