This team develops existing/proven system designs but also works towards disrupting traditional models of the wireless and sensing ecosystem and algorithms with an obsession to transform customer experience to the next level by doing whatever it takes.

Key job responsibilitiesIn this role, you will:

Create world-class algorithms, software, and firmware to implement wireless features and connectivity solutions for Amazon’s initiatives.Incubate, design, simulate, and influence end-to-end wireless systems and architecture (including selection of wireless chipsets).Dive deep and take ownership for critical design issues involving algorithm/protocol design, multi-radio coexistence, antenna configuration, overall system performance, etc.Participate in design reviews for complex wireless systems, simulations, algorithms, and software development.Interact with cross-functional engineering teams across the company.Collaborate with silicon partners to define and optimize wireless HW/SW architecture and implementation.Address all aspects of technology readiness, including manufacturability.Help build robust methodology and processes to deliver technology to products.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a focus on wireless communications and signal processing.- Strong background in modeling and analysis of wireless systems, communication theory, estimation and detection, optimization, wireless algorithms.- Excellent problem-solving ability, ability to ramp up quickly into new topics and understanding the fundamentals, and contribute to achieving the best KPIs working with cross-functional teams.- Experience with and/or knowledge of one or more industry standards such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, Zigbee, and other related wireless protocols.- Experience with a programming language like MATLAB, Python, C, or a similar scripting language.- Experience with platforms such as Linux/Unix and Windows.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s / PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a focus on wireless communications and signal processing.- Experience in applying statistical tools and machine learning to formulate and solve wireless/connectivity, sensing, IoT problems.- Experience with wireless system-level simulations using tools like MATLAB, Python, ns-3, etc.- Familiarity with Layers 2-4 of a commercial wireless communications protocol.- Designed systems/algorithms/protocols that are implemented/shipped in high-quality products.- Hands-on exposure to RF lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, power sensors, switch controllers, combiners, etc.- Experience with system-level integration.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
