Zeta Energy is an energy storage (battery) company developing an exciting next-generation battery cell and materials technology, located in Houston, Texas. Zeta Energy has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, dynamic, resourceful, and organized Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to work in a mission critical role of assisting the organization with setting up HR policies, procedures, systems, and functions. The role will report to the Chief HR Officer or temporary Designee in setting up and maintaining HR programs supporting current and future operations and projects. The scope includes current Research & Development lab activities and future plant projects and operations internally and with external parties as needed. The HR Business Partner will work with management to understand needs and deliver solutions ensuring people’s engagement with corporate systems. The role will identify and implement relevant software solutions to streamline efficient HR system applications.As Zeta Energy transitions its game-changing technology from the laboratory to the factory floor, the HR Business Partner will support the commercialization of patented, high-energy, high-power, and low-cost battery technology. You will be expected to stay organized, have a can-do positive attitude, and consistently keep our R&D laboratory, Manufacturing and projects working effectively and efficiently.Job Summary:

The Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor to the business, working collaboratively with the business leaders to understand organizational goals and challenges, and to provide guidance and support that aligns with the overall company strategy. This role involves data analysis, project management, and fostering strong relationships to drive business performance and growth.Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with leaders to develop and implement business strategies that align with the company’s objectives.Performance Analysis:

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.HR Programs:

Develop and update policies and procedures in line with corporate strategy.Talent Management & Recruitment:

Design, implement, and manage programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of personnel. Identify, attract, and select the best candidates for job vacancies.Learning & Development:

Design, implement, and evaluate learning programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of personnel.Compensation & Benefits:

Design, implement, and manage compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate personnel.Project Management:

Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, two-way communication, trust-based relationships with business & delivery lines and stakeholders.Financial Planning and Analysis:

Assist in the development of OPEX budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions.Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.Crisis Management:

Preparing, responding, and helping the organization recover from various crises, such as natural disasters, pandemics, economic downturns, or internal organizational issues.Management of Change:

Support business functions through change initiatives, providing guidance and support to ensure successful implementation.Resource Allocation:

Advise on the effective allocation of resources to maximize efficiency and achieve business goals.Conflict Resolution:

Identify, address, and resolve workplace disputes in a manner that is fair, effective, and consistent with company policies.Diversity & Inclusion:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM- CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD) is preferred.Experience:

7+ years of experience in a Business Partner, Operations HR, HR Generalist, or similar role. Experience in battery material manufacturing, cell manufacturing, general manufacturing, or oil, gas, and petrochemical industries is a plus.Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in data analysis.Project management experience and collaboration/leadership of cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of business operations and strategic planning.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Technical Proficiency:

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and HRIS.Personal Attributes:

R&D, automotive manufacturing / manufacturing facilities, engineering, operations, projects, and construction. Experience with facility overhauls or turnarounds is a plus.Working Conditions:
