This intersection of ideas, beliefs, and skills is what makes us unique enough to lead the world's largest network of digitally connected energy storage systems.What we are looking for:Stem operates battery energy storage systems (BESS) in a variety of settings and applications- from smaller C&I scale projects that participate in utility demand response programs to larger, utility-scale projects that are active in wholesale energy markets. To this end, Stem is seeking a detail-oriented and technically minded Data Operations Analyst to help facilitate operations and performance reporting across all the fleet's value streams. Ultimately, we are looking for someone with strong technical skills that wants to apply them to broad applications in the ESS operations environment and develop subject matter expertise.Responsibilities:Import, maintain and access data as required for operational needsCreate tools (in Excel, SQL, Python as appropriate) to automate or simplify manual processes and procedures and reduce overall operational errorsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and implement requirements for utility program operations in existing and new marketsIdentify and execute opportunities to increase the level of automation of current processesPrepare and maintain documentation of both existing and new processesPerform savings & utility bill calculations and validate the accuracy of our internal modelsDevelop an expertise of utility tariffs in the markets in which Stem participatesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with Stem internal customers (e.g. Sales, Customer and Program Operations, and our Network Operations Center)Support operational initiatives as neededRequirements:Technical experience with advanced Excel modeling and/or the use of analytic tools like PythonFamiliarity with SQLExceptional attention to detail and a high degree of speed and accuracyStrong quantitative analytic skills with demonstrated proficiency with technical conceptsAbility to learn quickly and produce quality work under tight deadlinesAble to think creatively to resolve problemsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExperience with helping to define, document and implement workflows and processAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWillingness to be both a team leader and hands-on player on the teamEducation and Experience:Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, mathematics, economics, or related field is strongly valued2+ years of experience in data operations or related field is requiredUnderstanding and demonstrated interest in time-series data, electrical utilities, utility tariffs, and renewable energy is a major advantagePrior experience working with large sets of data and data analysis using Python, SQL, Salesforce.com, Tableau and reporting tools a plusThis is a salaried exempt position, M-F, with additional weekend work as required.Job Location:
