Position Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Resource Development to lead and grow our annual fundraising campaign. This individual will be responsible for cultivating new and existing relationships with individual and corporate donors and enhancing the resources available to United Way and our community.

Key Responsibilities:In the area of fundraising and campaign management, the Director will develop and implement strategies for the annual fundraising campaign. This includes identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with corporate and individual donors, representing United Way at public venues such as workplace campaigns, special events, and community activities, and monitoring and reporting on fundraising progress through analyzing trends and setting performance goals. The Director will manage donor data using CRM tools, plan and facilitate workplace campaigns and related events from inception to completion, assist in planning events and creating campaign materials (including website and social media content), secure sponsorships for events, and enhance year-round communication with donors.

For volunteer and committee management, the Director will serve as the primary staff resource for the Board Resource Development Committee and Campaign Chair. This involves developing and conducting training for company campaign coordinators and volunteers and collaborating with volunteers to evaluate and improve campaign components.

Additional responsibilities include supporting other resource development activities as assigned by the Executive Director, and exploring potential development opportunities, including foundations, grants, planned giving, and endowment building.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in resource development.Proven experience in fundraising or sales; non-profit or volunteer management is a plus.Strong customer focus and ability to engage with diverse groups.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers and staff.Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to connect with audiences.Enthusiastic, creative, and self-motivated with strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Professional Expectations:Maintain confidentiality of donor records and adhere to United Way's Code of Ethics.Present a professional appearance and attitude.Demonstrate a mission-focused, collaborative, relationship-oriented, self-managed, results-driven, and socially responsible approach.Uphold a commitment to equity and inclusion.Flexible schedule required, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.Why Join Us?By joining United Way of Forsyth County, you will be part of a team committed to making a tangible impact in our community.
