Share Director Position DescriptionDirects, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department managing four or more individuals by providing guidance when assigning projects and communicating the goals for each project; identify opportunities for developing employee skills and professional growth; successfully manage the workflow of more than 40 projects at one time; develop strategic communications plans for communicating the university’s mission, messaging to media outlets locally and nationally – including mission-specific pitches and stories to garner national media attention and potential private funders, and campaigns to increase awareness of the university’s impact locally and regionally.Requisition ID:

Leads and supervises editorial team to ensure a highly collaborative environment where productivity is maximized and specific goals, budgets, priorities, and quality standards are met.Works closely with Marketing and Creative Services Senior Director, Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications, and Vice President for Institutional Advancement.Develops strategic communications plans to increase awareness about TTUHSC El Paso, TTP El Paso, and TTDOHC’s impact locally and regionally.Creates mission-specific pitches and stories to garner attention from national media and potential private funders.Oversees the content and production of the university’s alumni magazine.Manages the editorial team’s assignments, priorities, goals for projects, and workflow.Manages the university social media content creator’s assignments, priorities, goals for assignments, and workflow.Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures, and processes.Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.Perform all other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of TTUHSC El Paso policies in regards to media announcements and marketing efforts.Experience managing the content and production of a magazine.Distributing editorial assignments to writers and editors.Managing and monitoring deadlines for multiple editorial projects at the same time.Communicating with internal and external stakeholders.Working with vendors.Writing for internal and external stakeholders at a local, regional, and national level.Knowledge of AP style editing.EEO Statement
