OVERVIEW

The Director, Sponsor Financial Analysis will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities related to the analyses of the financial condition of NEF’s affordable housing developer partners. Establish, execute and maintain a program of processes and procedures to gather information and analyze the financial condition and general organizational structure of NEF’s sponsor partners. Document analysis as part of the investment review for real estate transactions contemplated with the sponsor partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Maintain and enhance the systematic approach for analyzing the financial condition and capacity of NEF’s sponsor organizations that develop multi-family affordable housing properties.

Perform an analysis of the sponsor organization’s financial statements and other relevant financial data, including their schedule of other real estate owned, as part of the sponsor assessment.

Perform an analysis of the sponsor ownership and governance structure, as well as continuity of key management positions.

Create and maintain a consistent reporting methodology which can be used to efficiently scale the assessment of an increasing volume of sponsors.

Represent the Financial Analysis team in Investment Review Committee meetings and answer Committee member questions regarding the documented financial analysis.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, with a minimum of five years of real estate experience.

MBA or relevant graduate degree a plus.

Experience in auditing an organization’s operations and documenting work-flows, audit or internal audit experience a plus.

Proven ability to work with peers in other sectors of the business to achieve a common goal.

Capacity to work in an evolving, team-oriented environment.

Self-motivated and driven to achieve outcomes which provide long-term benefits to the organization.
