Position Title:

QC Inspector

Reports To: Quality Manager

Position Summary:

Federal Equipment Company has been a leading supplier for marine deck machinery and specialized weapons and material handling systems. Through the years the company has emerged into an internationally recognized organization with extensive expertise in marine design/engineering and manufacturing of critical shipboard systems. The company, now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is rapidly growing and in need of a QC Inspector. will be responsible for completing and documenting QC inspections within FEC. This role is carried out in our QC Inspection Lab, and other Manufacturing environments/locations within FEC as required.

FEC team members wear many hats and cover several areas of responsibility. This position is no different. This role will fulfill duties as described below, as well as technical and clerical duties that arise when bottlenecks present themselves. This position is one of proactivity, continuous improvement, and integrity for the overall quality of the company.

Essential Job Functions:

Reads and interprets materials, such as work orders, inspection plans, and blueprints, to determine inspection and test proceduresInspects materials, products, and documentations/certificates for conformance to specificationsInspects purchased materials for conformity to standards, specifications, drawings, inspection plans, and checklists to verify visual, dimensional requirements, part marking, lot/serial numbers, lot quantity, handling and shipping damageAnalyzes and interprets sample dataEnsures finished products, components, or assemblies are accurate and contain all necessary markings, packaging, and paperwork/certificatesMarks items for acceptance or rejection, records test results and inspection dataDocuments nonconformances in the NCR System / tag material & ensure segregation; Confers with QC Lab Supervisor, and other relevant parties regarding inspection results, compiles reports of results"Accepts" all received conforming items in Jobscope, applies accepted tags, and moves to the next operationPerform all job duties in full accordance with FEC/FMD policies on information, assets protection, maintain password(s) confidential, protect critical business information. The code of conduct policies. Full responsibility and ownership (like all employees on site) for all audits (internal, Corporate, External, for Quality, H&S, Environment, etc.).Other duties as assigned.Requirements:

High School Diploma or GEDPrevious inspection, or manufacturing, production/machining experienceDemonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and hand toolsAbility to read and understand blueprints, technical documents, and operating proceduresGD&T experience preferredManage/maintain equipment and records as requiredAbility to operate Windows based computers and working knowledge of typical office programs - i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointLift and/or move up to 35 poundsExperience with driving forklifts a plus - must be willing to learn forklift drivingEffective communication skillsMust be reliable, a self-starter, team-player, and willing to learn new skillsDocument management skill - attention to detailKnowledge of ISO 9001 a plusNote: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
