**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Step-down Unit
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks with possible extension
**Shift:** Night Shift 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including evenings, weekends, float, and holidays
**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified
**Experience:** Three years preferred; travel experience preferred; must have charge experience and strong neuro experience
**License:** In hand preferred; temporary license process should be started before applying
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS required via American Heart Association; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
**Must-Have:**- EPIC proficiency- Expertise in vents, IV start, telemetry, PA lines, conscious sedation, neuro IV titration, insulin IV experience- Experience with post-brain surgery care and EVD/vetriculostomy
**Job Description:**
- Serve a diverse patient population in a general step-down unit (SDU)- Manage pulmonary cases like acute respiratory failure, COPD exacerbation, and CHF exacerbation- Handle cardiac cases such as NSTEMI/STEMI and CHF/CMO requiring BIPAP/diuresis- Address sepsis without requiring pressors, minor trauma, and CIWA- Care for DKA patients requiring insulin infusion- Occasionally handle vascular surgeries and post-op complications- Maintain typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, sometimes 1:5- Be willing to float within contract and possess a strong neuro expertise- Pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher; failure to pass disqualifies candidates- Complete 16 hours of orientation
Vaccinations Required:- Flu Vaccine (Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed)
Fit Testing Requirements:- Facility cannot accommodate a PAPR; any history of fit test issues will disqualify a candidate
Only candidates with their current address more than 50 miles from the facility will be considered.
