Position Summary:The clinic psychiatrist provides psychiatric treatment for clients in collaboration with the clinic clinical treatment team. The psychiatrist identifies client treatment needs, provides medication assessments and adjustments, and utilization review as needed. The Psychiatrist is responsible for assessments, treatment planning, psychopharmacological treatment and collaboration with providers to ensure that quality medical/psychiatric care is provided to all patients.Essential Functions:Performs diagnostic evaluations on clientsDemonstrates competency in providing services to assigned patients.Participates in treatment planning ,

implementation ,

and monitoring.Provides consultation and resolution to emergency situationsGathers necessary information from patients ,

so that an effective and appropriate care plan will be implemented.Monitors medication management including prescribing.Document patient information in medical record in a timely manner.Participates in employee staff development by providing relevant in-services.Requires minimal supervision regarding use of time and ability to prioritize work assignmentsAbility to communicate effectively with professionals and clients/familiesAbility to make sound decisions in emergency situations or with unpredictable or violent clientsAbility to make accurate assessments and provide appropriate treatmentEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships within the agency, community and referral sources.Works closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner to ensure proper medication managementComplies fully with the Utilization Review guidelines as mandated by DPHSubmits complete, accurate and timely billing informationSets up schedule with the Clinic to visit on a consistent and timely basisConsults and advises the clinical staff and Clinical Manager in regards to medication managementM.D. or O.D. Degree; Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist; professional experience of three years.Current CPR Certification
