Full Time Registered Nurse at our Gramercy Park Office. The Registered Nurse - Allergy will provide a high level of general care, vial mixing, administering allergy shots, and educating patients by using their knowledge and skills to promote the goal of The Ultimate Patient Experience. Allergy experience strongly preferred, but not required.

Schedule:

Full time, 30+ hours. Monday to Friday 7am-6pm.

Essential Functions:

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s).Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Administers prescribed testing (including skin prick testing and intradermal testing), medications and treatments.Maintains immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness.Administer allergy shots and ensuring provider is on site.Observes, records and reports patients' vitals and reactions to treatments.Assesses patients' needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems.Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal).Maintains accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR.Assures patient stays for required observation time after injections.Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations.Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations, informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.

Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider's next steps to the best of their ability.Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in provision of quality patient care.Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date.Confirm that insurance benefits have been verified prior to preparation of allergy serums.Serve as a role model and consultant to staff.Regularly interact with physicians and other providers and staff to identify and resolve problems.Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; and by attending seminars and conferences as needed.Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities.Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.Qualifications:

Minimum 1-3 years of experienceAllergy experience strongly preferred.Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing required.Pass the NCLEX-RN or state approved comparison.Active Registered Nurse license in appropriate state.Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Excellent patient relations and customer services skills.Open availability to work during weekdays.Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Hourly Pay Range

$37-$39 USD
