We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager- Government to join our team overseeing the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities within US Federal, State, and local government channels, as well as international partner governments. This role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and managing the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation. You will also conduct market research and competitive analysis to position our solutions effectively and ensure successful contract closures. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Sales Generation: Identify and prospect new business opportunities, generate leads, and close sales to achieve and exceed sales targets

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and tailored solutions

Product and Solution Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of Social Mobile's products and solutions. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, market developments, and competitors' offerings to effectively position and differentiate Social Mobile's solutions.

Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategy, plans and forecasts.

Opportunity Analysis and Qualification: Research and assess opportunities, evaluating potential risks and competition.

Capture Strategy: Formulate and execute strategies to win business, including pricing and teaming arrangements.

Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers (federal, state, and local government agencies and prime contractors), understanding their requirements, challenges, and priorities to shape tailored solutions.

Competitive Analysis: Analyze incumbent and competitors' strengths and weaknesses to position the company favorably during the capture process. Develop strategies to differentiate and showcase the company's value proposition.

Contract Negotiation and Closure: Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with government requirements.

Sales Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular reports on sales activities and pipeline.

Customer Service and Support: Provide post-sales support and address any issues to ensure client satisfaction.

Solution Development: Collaborate with teams to create solutions that meet client needs.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact the capture process and the successful execution of the opportunity.

Proposal Support: Lead efforts during the pre-proposal and proposal phase, ensuring alignment with the capture strategy and government procurement requirements.

Stakeholder Management and Communication: Regularly communicate with clients and key stakeholders to provide updates on capture progress, challenges, and adjustments to the capture strategy.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the federal government, particularly with decision-makers within target agencies. Understand customer needs and adapt strategies to meet these requirements.

Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of government contracting trends, RFPs, grants, and emerging opportunities within the enterprise mobility space. Analyze competitor activities, regulatory changes, and technological advancements by attending and participating in government centric trade shows and government sponsored events.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field preferred.10+ years' experience in business development, capture management, or related roles, with federal government clients.Prior experience in or direct affiliation with state or local government procurement organization preferredDemonstrated track record of successfully capturing and winning large, complex contracts or projects.In-depth understanding of government contracting mechanisms, including federal, state, local, and international regulations, and compliance requirementsStrategic and analytical mindset, with the capacity to think critically and solve complex problems, especially concerning federal acquisition strategiesExperience in drafting and responding to government RFP's.Proven knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)Demonstrated understanding of Federal Government operations and developing "best value" solutions for Federal GovernmentStrong knowledge of the mobility industry, encompassing both hardware and servicesExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsAbility to execute presentations and proposals specific to the client's needsKnowledge of the company's industry, products, and servicesAbility to maintain effective relationships with clientsSelf-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to adapt to a fast paced and dynamic work environmentMust be a US CitizenMust be capable of passing an extensive background investigationMust be fluent in verbal and written EnglishMust possess, or be qualified to possess, a US Passport
