Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located within the Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division of the Life Sciences Solutions Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

How will you make an impact?

As a member of the North America Regional Market Development Team, you will be responsible for marketing strategy and tactical implementation of activities and results supporting key product lines and application areas while implementing projects in cross-functional teams. You will drive downstream marketing for NGS product lines developed for solid tumor clinical oncology. You will enable new product introductions, sustain existing product offerings, and communicate the value of our portfolio of Ion Torrent and Oncomine solutions to customers.

What will you do:

Build multi-channel coordinated marketing plans for NGS applications, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, sales funnels, and staging and pacing of tactical programs

Guide the development of copy and creative content for clinical oncology markets, appropriately positioning products within compliance guidelines, while conveying strong value propositions and clear product differentiation

Develop sales training, customer education materials, and marketing plans in collaboration with product management, global marketing, medical affairs, and commercial teams

Develop a robust lead generation and sales opportunity funnel through promotional initiatives and marketing-led events such as webinars and tradeshows

Successfully engage with advertising agencies to deliver high-quality assets, including content for print and digital collateral, PR, customer-facing presentations, tradeshows and promotional materials

Maintain and analyze campaign metrics to measure the efficiency of marketing activities

Manage marketing budgets and optimize the promotional mix of campaigns to achieve a high return on investment

Maintain relationships and projects with external collaborators such as customer KOLs, pharmaceutical partners, patient advocacy groups, and sales channel partners

How will you get here?

Education

​​Bachelor’s degree required

(preferably in molecular biology, genetics, or other related scientific field)

Master’s degree in relevant scientific field or business administration preferred

Experience

4+ years of hands-on experience in marketing, sales, and/or molecular assay development with growing scope and responsibility in the genomics, molecular diagnostic, or oncology arenas.

Prior sales, marketing, or technical experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and/or oncology diagnostics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Self-starter and collaborative within project teams, and successful track record working in matrix environments

Skill managing sophisticated marketing projects with a strong attention to detail

Adept at building and maintain relationships with influential customers and key opinion leaders

Strong creative intuition on design and messaging that resonates with customers and an ability to learn from previous campaigns to improve on performance

Ability to manage project scope, budget, and schedule to achieve timely results

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Adept with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Approximately 10-15% domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$140,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
