Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune them appropriately. Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Design, implement, test, verify and deploy safety-critical software systems, ensuring the success of the overall Ground Data System (hardware/software) supporting space flight operations.Support Flight and Ground Software Engineers to build/test EGSE, verifying firmware & SW design requirementsWrite EGSE Rack Level Software & Firmware using drivers in C++ with application program interfacesDevelop serial communication software interfaces between EGSE RS-422, RS-485 hardware and vehicle flight avionicsTroubleshoot issues and anomalies that arise during testingReduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasksPerform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigationsFind opportunities for safety improvements and cost savingsDevelop, Test & Commission Software Scripts interfacing EGSE Hardware and Ground Software to run in conjunction with Vehicle I&T Procedures.Collaborate with I&T Engineers, generating and maintaining test requirements and verification matricesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers representing space vehicle systems, mission-control infrastructure, operations fields, and customers to define software requirements, architectures, and designs.Support EGSE SW and Ground Software maintenance, upgrades, and functionality improvementsParticipate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews.Write & maintain SW documentation, and manage procedural redlines/updates during test campaignsFollow software development processes that meet Blue Origin and customer-required standards to ensure software safety and reliability.Qualifications:Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!B.S. or higher degree in Software or Engineering related field.8+ years of software development experienceProven software development in Modern C++, Python, or Rust.Experience in full lifecycle software engineering. Including: system design; architecting requirements gathering; software implementation and verification, system integration, and release.Confirmed skills in software build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, and deployment.Familiarity with Linux environment and basic Unix system administration activities.Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skillsExperience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environmentAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:Experience with writing Software RequirementsFamiliarity with messaging brokers (MQTT, ActiveMQ, etc)Experience with Serial Communication protocols(RS-422, RS-485)Experience developing software to establish Receive/Transmit (Rx/Tx) ports in Host machineExperience with Software Performance Testing with a focus on LatencyExperience with Amazon web services (AWS)Experience with complex electronics hardware and software systemsCompliance experience with NPR 7150.2.Experience with fault-tolerant software design, human error assessment, and human error prevention and fault tolerance.Experience with spacecraft subsystems and associated software.Compensation Range for:CO applicants is $157,053.75-$219,875.25;WA applicants is $170,805.00-$239,127.00
