Big Ten Network is searching for a Manager, Business Operations to join its team in Chicago, IL. The Business Operations team plays a support role in the organization, providing critical support for other BTN departments (production, sales, sponsorship, marketing, programming, digital, engineering, etc.).As the Manager, Business Operations, your primary responsibilities will include planning and executing company events and sales/sponsorship hospitality events at tentpole B1G Conference events, procurement, distribution, and tracking of BTN's ticket allotment, procurement and management of BTN's premiums inventory (swag), and oversight of building/office services and support.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, organize, and execute company events, including the all-staff meeting, holiday parties, employee appreciation events, and Founders DayPlan, organize, and execute sales/sponsorship events at B1G tentpole events, such as B1G Football Championship Game, B1G Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments, B1G Football Media Days, etc.Play a key role in the planning and execution of corporate events, such as the BTN Big 10K and BTN ExperienceManage BTN's ticket allotment for Big Ten football and basketball games, including procurement from B1G Conference and schools, as well distribution to internal and external partiesManage in-office meals, including all company lunches, production meals during football, bagel days, etc.Negotiate and secure hotel contracts for B1G Conference tentpole events and other major events (i.e. CFP, NCAA Final Four), as necessarySupervise the procurement, organization, and tracking of BTN's inventory of company apparel and premiumsSupervise the day-to-day management of BTN's office services, such as office/kitchen supplies, package shipping/receiving, mail distribution, ID badges, and BTN parking programServe as a primary point of contact with 600W building management, security, parking, and catering teamsOversee BTN studio tours for groups, teams, VIPs, or visiting executivesWork closely with Human Resources on employee onboarding, employee incentive programs, employee volunteer opportunities, and health/safety planningCoordinate with FOX Sports business operations on company-wide initiatives (i.e. Founder Day), ticket requests, etc.Direct supervision of Coordinator, Business Operations, and ReceptionistWHAT YOU WILL NEED5+ years of experience in event management, business operations, operations, or office administrationProficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerpointExcellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple large scale projects/events simultaneouslyEffective communication skills, as this individual will be communicating with both internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced office environmentStrong team player with an attitude of "no job is too small"Customer service mentalityBasic understanding of college sportsNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERBachelor's Degree and/or Master's DegreeExperience at a sports and/or media entityBasic understanding of the Big Ten ConferenceWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
