Job Description
Prepare portions of or complete contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines, including the determination of applicable project plans and specificationsReview proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimatePrepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of workMaintain files of working documents as back up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etcMay review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materialsReview and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etcReview proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etcLead and coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assignedInteract with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibilityFollow awarded contracts as assigned, may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits; procuring material, etcWorks with the Senior Project Manager and VP to assign responsibilities on each projectOversight of the Indiana estimating process for all projects including maintenance of standardized procedures, methods, and processes for estimatingWorks with Corporate office to prepare bid forms, request bid bonds, insurance, and coordinate delivery of bid documents between officesDevelop and maintain project lead log for the Indiana OfficeMaintain prequalification for State, City & County AgenciesSolicit subcontractors and suppliers in support of project bidsAttend outreach events in effort to identify subcontractor and bid opportunitiesProvide complete detailed estimates for concrete work, structures, earthwork, piling, etcProvide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bidsEnsure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figuresTrack awarded contracts as requiredMaintain subcontractor data base and develop positive relationships with subcontractorsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
* College degree related to Construction Management, Estimating, or Engineering
* 3+ years of estimating experience in related field
* Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, assist in developing a project schedule
* Knowledge of construction practices, techniques and equipment
* Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office, AGTek and Bluebeam or related estimating software experience
* Ability to work with a team and willing to promote teamwork
