OverviewKirkland’s is looking for an Interactive Designer/Developer to execute coding front end web pages and design on kirklands.com. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing engaging, user-friendly digital experiences that align with brand identity and elevate user interaction. Your ability to combine creativity with technical expertise will be key in delivering visually stunning and effective designs across web, mobile, and other digital platforms. This person will collaborate with eCommerce and Marketing partners to ensure flawless execution of monthly site refresh and daily content updates in support of the best possible site experience while keeping the Kirkland’s brand top of mind. They will be accountable for day-to-day testing of website content.

Responsibilities

Use your strong creative eye to produce high-quality visual elements, including layout, typography, and graphics, ensuring consistency across all platforms

Creatively design web updates, including category banners, homepages, landing pages, specialty pages, etc.

Code all front-end web updates, including category banners, homepages, landing pages, specialty pages, etc.

Always create with mobile first and responsive mindset

Performs QA on all content prior to go live, identifying and troubleshooting issues & bugs

Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency

Partner with Site Merchandiser on timing of content live dates to ensure creative assets go live with 100% accuracy

Utilize and evaluate current workflow/processes, make recommendations on improvements to keep seamless and error free go lives

Create and maintain how to documents for coding daily content on the website

Perform daily website audit of content scheduled for each day

Maintain a thorough knowledge of system capabilities, including new technology

Ability to work on critical requests that occur outside of working hours

Qualifications

Work experience: 3-5 years

Degree requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Design or equivalent preferred

HTML, JavaScript & CSS

Adobe Creative Suite

Knowledge of responsive design principles

Experience with Content Management System and web platforms

Additional Skills

Extremely organized and highly collaborative

Responds well to time critical requests

Ability to work in a nimble and challenging retail environment

Ability to take direction from various levels of management

Strong relationship-building skills

Verbal communication skills

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
